And seeing as even all this time later there were stupid regular contracts for higher level SeeDs to go out and deal with the lunar monsters that had done even more damage to the local ecosystems... Well, Nida wasn't sure even the Esthari president had that sort of pull.
Still, the other part, Squall doesn't even know what he's dangling in front of Nida here.

And you're still going to get forcing me to take a break at the same time? Strange, I didn't see you in my intel classes with Aki. Are you just a lot better at stealth than I remember you being while we were growing up?"
No, it wasn't that, and he knows it. How the hell was Squall supposed to know Nida had once had a dream he considered silly as a child. A dream to go into space. The momentary annoyance he'd had back during everything when Xu explained Squall had gone into space with Rinoa and another one of his team had been pretty serious. But of course Squall was meant for things that were really amazing.
